The WG currently brings together representatives from Swedish International Liberal Centre (Sweden), RES Publica (Portugal), Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung (Germany), Foundation Max van der Stoel (Netherlands), CEVRO/Liberálně-konzervativní akademie (The Czech Republic), Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (Germany), Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy (Greece), Eduardo Frei Foundation (Netherlands), Institut für Umwelt - Friede – Entwicklung, (Austria), Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Germany), Friedrich-Ebert- Stiftung (FES), Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung (Germany). The WG is open to all ENoP members active or interested in development cooperation issues.
Since its establishment in 2012 the WG has been closely following the Structured Dialogue, now called the Policy Forum for Development. In this context the WG has given ongoing input to consultation processes on EU policies towards Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Local Authorities (LAs). Moreover, the WG is representing ENoP in the informal “EU CSO Group on international development” that is meeting several times per year in Brussels.
Together with the WGs “Democracy Support” and “EU-Enlargement/European Neighbourhood”, the WG “Development Assistance” is a fundamental element for all further ENoP activities in support of EU external assistance and the dialogue with EU institutions and other stakeholders. Therefore the issues discussed in the WG comprise fundamental topics like the Post- 2015 Development Agenda, Financing for Development, Development Education, Policy Coherence for Development etc.
In 2013 the WG has organised a Public Conference on the topic of Policy Coherence for Development (LINK).
In March 2014 the WG published its profile paper: Development Cooperation between State and Society (LINK).
